Background
Long ago, two races ruled over Earth: HUMANS and MONSTERS. One day, war broke out between the two races. After a long battle, the humans were victorious. They sealed the monsters underground with a magic spell. Over a century later, in the year 201X, the mountain in which the monsters were sealed was known as Mt. Ebott, and it was claimed that any who climbed the mountain would never return, one child ventured up anyway, and tripped down through the barrier. This child would become the adopted prince of the monsters, but eventually fall ill and died in a post mortem scheme to get his brother, the prince of monsters by blood to take his soul, go beyond the magic barrier, kill 6 more humans and become a god, so he can destroy the barrier. This plan would ultimately fail due to the monster's pacifism and he would die as well due to the fearful retaliation of humans assuming he had killed the human child. After this, the monsters would have their hatred for the humans rekindled and the King of monsters promised his citizens that he would kill any human coming into the underground until he could obtain 7 human souls and destroy the barrier and reignite the long finished war between humans and monsters. He would succeed in killing 6, until the 7th, Frisk, would be the last one to fall in and change the fate of monsters and humans forever through pacifism or genocide.
Abilities
SOUL Manipulation
Frisk is able to control their SOUL’s movement, though it could also be considered a representation of Frisk’s actual movement in dodging attacks from enemies as well, or even a combination of both, given the situation. Their soul goes through a small period of invincibility after being damaged that can be increased with certain armors or ITEMs. On top of this, Frisk can increase the movement speed of their soul through certain armors and consumable ITEMs.
In addition to Frisk’s manipulation of their own soul, they can also damage and destroy the SOULs of other enemies with their attacks.
DETERMINATION
DETERMINATION is a fluctuating power based on the conceptual emotion itself. It largely affects the power of the individual using it, allowing them to become more powerful, which is how Frisk can go from being threatened by lesser monsters to tanking the power of Hypergod of Death Asriel. With enough DETERMINATION, Frisk can also self revive and regenerate their SOUL from pieces, cheating death and allowing them to come back from death without having to rely on SAVE states. The strength of Frisk’s DETERMINATION is also what allows them to be able to SAVE, but this is only possible if Frisk is the most determined individual in the dimension they’re inhabiting (which was easy to pull off in the Underground, since monsters’ bodies can’t handle nearly as much determination as humans, and they were considerably within a separate dimension due to the barrier separating them from the outside world). Enough DETERMINATION can also allow a body to persist even without a SOUL, with Flowey being the prime example.
Frisk’s DETERMINATION is also likely weaponized to empower their weapons to do things they shouldn’t be capable of (like shooting star-esque energy attacks attacks from a revolver containing no bullets).
SAVE-ing
A power possible through having the most DETERMINATION of anyone in a respective dimension, this allows Frisk to travel back to a certain point in time after being killed. With enough DETERMINATION, they can achieve the power to SAVE without searching out SAVE points. This also allows Frisk to call out SOULs at will, similar to the monsters’ power to draw out a human’s soul during combat.
ACT-ing
ACT-ing is more or less just the “actions” of Frisk in an attempt to be able to spare a monster successfully, “check” their ATK and DEF stats, or, if Frisk’s DETERMINATION is high enough, they can turn their “hope” into reality and reduce the damage they take, as well as turn “dreams” into multiple ITEMs that can heal almost all their damage in one usage.
FIGHT-ing
Frisk’s main method for attacking, FIGHT-ing involves timing of each attack to a certain point to affect how much damage they’ll cause.
MERCY
MERCY allows Frisk to spare an enemy when their health is low enough or they’ve properly befriended them through ACT-ing. In addition, it provides Frisk the option to “flee” from a battle, though the chances of this succeeding are generally low.
Reset
Another ability only made possible by having the most DETERMINATION in a dimension, Frisk can “Reset” time to the moment they gained enough DETERMINATION to start saving. It’s important to keep in mind that a “True Reset” is when you can “Reset” time to right before Frisk gained the ability to “SAVE” or “Reset” basically resetting all the “Resets” Frisk has ever done. This however is not something Frisk can actually do. It’s only possible through the player.
Meta-Concept Manipulation
An ability some Undertale characters with meta-fictional awareness have been shown to have, Frisk could also abuse this to some small degree, mostly in their fight with Sans, by abusing the limits of where their soul can travel, as well as how many times they can attack in a turn.

Feats
Strength
- Could regularly harm monsters far larger than them
- This includes but is not limited to: Asgore, Undyne, and many of the dogs throughout Snowdin.
- Undyne in particular is capable of suplexing boulders and destroying bridges and tables with her magic spears
- With enough DETERMINATION is capable of one shotting Asgore, Undyne, Toriel, and Papyrus
- Was still capable of dishing out more damage than Undying Undyne, who was largely boosted by DETERMINATION in order to obtain the form
- Capable of harming Omega Flowey to some extent even without the help of the 6 other human SOULs
- Omega Flowey should also be superior to Chara, who was capable of physically destroying the timeline with one slash from the “Real Knife”
Durability
- Capable of taking hits from all of the boss monsters, including but not limited to Undyne, Toriel, Asgore, Mettaton, Muffet, etc…
- Could survive Undyne’s house blowing up
- Could survive the fall into the underground at the beginning of the game, as well as the fall down the waterfall into the dump
- Survives attacks from magic spears, fireballs, giant guns, bombs, moving mini-airplanes, etc...
- Capable of tanking hits from Omega Flowey who is likely superior to Chara, and was able to create multiple backup SAVE files, which are known to be entire timelines
- Can survive attacks from Hypergod of Death Asriel, who is exponentially stronger than both Omega Flowey and Chara
Speed
- Can dodge solar flares from Knight Knight’s mini-sun as well as her meteor shower when she summons a mini-moon
- Can dodge gunfire from a giant revolver
- Can dodge and block Undyne’s magic spears
- Should be comparable to Undyne, who could run from her house in Waterfall to Papyrus’s house in Snowdin in seconds
- Should be comparable to Napstablook who was able to react to the light from Asriel’s timeline purging
- Could potentially dodge Asriel’s timeline purging attack
Experience
- Managed to defeat characters with far more meta-concept manipulation - e.g. Omega Flowey, Asgore, and Sans
- Has fought against people with an ability to bypass Frisk’s durability, outside of SOUL hax - e.g. Sans’ karmic retribution
- Based on player’s choice, either befriended and liberated an entire species from a centuries long imprisonment, or committed universal genocide
- Has likely gone through the same adventure/conquest multiple times due to resetting and the player’s “true reset”
- Fought and either befriended or defeated a plethora of “boss monsters”
- Solved many puzzles to traverse through the underground
- Creative enough to beat Sans even when he made it so they couldn’t fight back
- Managed to “stay determined” even in situations where there were no possible chances of winning in sight - e.g. Sans killing them multiple times, or Asriel overwriting Frisk’s saves and preventing them from moving
Weaknesses
As stated before, Frisk’s “Resets” and “SAVE-ing” are only possible if they’re the most determined being within a given dimension. If Frisk’s opponent were a human with arguably more “DETERMINATION” it could theoretically be argued that it would cancel out their ability to come back after death. However, given how much “DETERMINATION” characterizes Frisk’s entire journey and personality as they seek to liberate and befriend the monsters, this likely won’t be an issue, even assuming that such a thing would be allowed to happen despite the difference in the laws that dictate the Undertale universe and whatever universe Frisk’s opponent comes from.
Frisk also has a tendency to push the “I’ll become your friend even if it kills me” trope so far to the extreme that it’s canonically happened multiple times, potentially going into the dozens.
The last major weakness to point out is that some of Frisk’s speed feats are contextually arguable as to how good they are, for reasons like Knight Knight’s meteor shower and solar flares being a lot slower than they should be due to size, as well as the light from Asriel’s timeline purging being uncharacteristic of light due to it “knocking on Napstablook’s door”.
Summary
Advantages
- Scales to universal and low multiversal characters at highest showings of DETERMINATION
- Potentially has and scales to some relativistic and MFTL+ feats
- Self revives constantly through SAVEs but can also self revive without them if their DETERMINATION is high enough
- Soul hax can bypass durability
- At their highest showings of DETERMINATION can call out SOULs from within a body, which would be majorly useful in a fight scenario
- Has a metric fuckton of healing options, with their best ones having no limit and restoring almost all their health immediately
- Their SOUL goes intangible/invincible for a short moment whenever it’s damaged, and this can be manipulated to last longer through certain items
- Mobile versatility thanks to their CELL’s jetpack function
- Ranged attacks thanks to the “Empty Gun”
- Many stat boosting weapons, consumables, and armors
Disadvantages
- Will lose the ability to SAVE if their DETERMINATION is too low or they’re not the most determined person in the dimension they’re in
- Speed feats are arguable based on context
- Meta-conceptual manipulation is shockingly minimal despite the themes of Undertale and how much other characters are able to manipulate it
- Potentially pacifistic to a fault
- Potentially genocidal to a fault (though this is most likely because of manipulation from Chara or the player)
Best Potential Opponent
Ness
Obviously this is the best fight for Frisk possible, given Earthbound is the main source of inspiration for Undertale, they’re both children from wacky RPGs with meta plot points, both have unconventional weaponry, and it’s a battle of the mind vs the soul.
